Starcraft on Xbox - Another FPS?
By: Osmose

Anyone who's played Starcraft knows it's a great game. Take Warcraft, put it in space, replace the races with Terrans(Humans), Zerg, and Protoss, add several cool features such as almost no limits on making maps or scenarios, and voila! Starcraft!
So, when I first heard the name, "Starcraft Ghost", I was expecting the best war game ever. But, I was troubled when I heard it was a First Person Shooter. Sure, everyone loves an FPS, but there's too many in today's gaming world. I mean, Halo was fun, 007 games are always good, and Splinter Cell looks like one of the best games since Pong. But there can be too many FPS's.
Starcraft Ghost could've been the first game of it's kind on the Xbox, yet they decided to go a different route and start fresh with a whole new concept. Using the Xbox's great capabilities, fresh, crisp 3D graphics could be mixed with brand new weapons, buildings, and effects. We could've had one of the best games on the Xbox.
And what about Xbox Live? The regular Starcraft only allows 8 people at a time. But Imagine 16 of you and your friends battling it out on a blood streaked battle field. Shouting out commands to your allies while insulting your opponent. Maybe even importing maps to an online account to have custom scenarios. Complicated, but possible.
Sure, you could've mixed an FPS feature in, for example, infiltration missions in between main battles. But they had to follow the trend. I know I'm whining, but I can't help it. If I could think up a great game idea like that, why couldn't Blizzard?
But since I can't change it, I might as well live with it. If you think about it, it shouldn't be that bad of a game. Diehard FPS gamers will love it, and average gamers will like it too, or so I predict. To me it looks like a game I'd buy. Hopefully it will be.
