The Second Season of NFL Fever On Monday Night Kicks off on Xbox.com
Posted by Ben on Friday, September 6 2002

Put on your pads and helmet, grab your lucky football jersey and head to the nearest computer because Microsoft is proud to kick off season two of “NFL Fever on Monday Night”. “NFL Fever on Monday Night” is a simulated highlight reel, game summary and statistics which appears every Friday on www.xbox.com and www.NFLFever2003.com previewing the upcoming Monday Night game. All games will be played in incredibly realistic replicas of NFL stadiums, using Microsoft Game Studios’ “NFL Fever 2003” for Xbox to simulate the game.

“NFL Fever on Monday Night’s” first match-up of the season is a familiar one, pitting the Pittsburgh Steelers against the team that dashed their “Super Bowl Dreams”, the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots.

The Steelers jumped out to an early 21-7, second quarter lead after Jerome “The Bus” Bettis rumbled for TD’s of 26 and 7-yards and Kordell “Slash” Stewart chipped in with a 74-yard TD dash of his own. However in typical Patriot fashion, the arm of Tom Brady and Bill Belicheck’s smothering defense took over. Brady, out to prove last year was no fluke, threw for 336 yards and 2 TD’s each to Troy Brown and rookie sensation Deion Branch. When all was said and done, the Patriots started off the 2002 NFL campaign with a come from behind 28-21 victory.

To see this week’s simulated highlight reel, game summary and statistics visit www.xbox.com or www.NFLFever2003.com . Be sure to check back in Week Two when Donovan McNabb and the Philadelphia Eagles venture to Washington to battle Steve Spurrier’s Redskins.

Oh, and after you’re done with your computer, head back to your Xbox and continue playing “NFL Fever 2003” so you can be ready to beat your friends around the country when the Xbox Live online system kicks off November 15!

“NFL Fever 2003”, which features cover athlete and spokesperson Peyton Manning, is available in stores for the suggested retail price of $49.99 exclusively for Xbox.
