THQ Gets New VP

CALABASAS HILLS, Calif. – October 28, 2002 - THQ® Inc. (Nasdaq: THQ) today announced that it has named Philip Holt vice president of product development. Most recently Vice President of Product Development and Operations at THQ studio Volition, Mr. Holt brings more than 10 years of product development and team management experience to his position at THQ.
"The teams Philip built and managed during his tenure at Volition and previously at EA have consistently delivered top-quality product," said Jack Sorensen, executive vice president of worldwide studios, THQ. "He will be instrumental in further strengthening THQ's product development group."
As Vice President of Product Development at THQ, Mr. Holt will manage THQ's external development teams in addition to overseeing the Quality Assurance department. His tenure at Volition included the release of the Freespace 2 for PC, the Summoner franchise, as well as the top-selling, critically acclaimed Red Faction series. Prior to joining Volition in 1998, Mr. Holt served as a development director at Electronic Arts Seattle, working on such hits as FIFA: Road To World Cup 98.
