Turok: Evoloution 4th Installment
Posted by Ben on Thursday, August 29 2002
Welcome to the fourth and final installment of our Turok: Evolution, 9-1-02 countdown. Acclaim is going to give gamers a look at the high-flying arsenal that is swooping in on the Turok franchise for the first time ever. So watch out from above, when this prehistoric bird starts dropping bombs it won't be considered good luck.
It's a bird, it's a plane, nope, it's a heavily armed Quetzalcoatlus. That's right, for the first time ever, Turok is going to take flight. Equipped with machine guns and homing missiles, Turok proves to be just as intense in the air as he is on the ground. With 15% of the game made up of five chapters and 20 levels devoted to aerial gameplay, you'll be challenged by:
Ø Air to air and air to ground combat;
Ø Strategic missions;
Ø Environmental traps, such as rockslides, waterfalls and floating mines;
Ø Your friends on the backs of their own Quetzalcoatlus in multiplayer.
While trying to navigate through the torture-ridden skies of the Lost Land, you will at times have helpful correspondence by allied squad members. They will help you wax some enemies, instruct you on what needs to get done in order to complete missions, and even help direct you through the skies. This doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of secret paths and areas to explore. Hint hint.
Even with all of this help, don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for floating pickups. With three different views to choose from, gamers shouldn't have a problem finding:
Ø Additional rockets for when you're running low;
Ø Overdrive, which boosts your machine guns and makes them twice as powerful;
Ø Even a dead cow that will rejuvenate your injured Quetzalcoatlus with 50 points of health.
Altogether, Turok: Evolution is packed to the gills with explosive entertainment. Whether it's the new flight mode, hardcore weaponry, ultra-realistic AI, breathtaking environments or hours of jam-packed multiplayer fun, Turok: Evolution is without a doubt the hottest FPS to grace your console this year. So get ready, Sunday bloody Sunday is just around the corner!
And as an added bonus, don't miss this chapter's hilarious new Anatomy 101 dissection video, courtesy of Turok himself.
