London September xx 2002 - Infogrames Europe, a leading global publisher of interactive entertainment is ready to release a new action-game under its popular Atari® brand - Supermanä: The Man of Steel for the Xboxä videogame system from Microsoft.
Based on a new story written alongside DC Comics' and starring the most popular and recognised super hero in the world, Superman: The Man of Steel will challenge players to protect Metropolis from super villains 'Braniac 13' and 'Lex Luthor', as well as a legion of malevolent robots intent on destroying the city and taking over the world.
Braniac 13 attempts to take control of the advanced technology behind the futuristic Metropolis that would enable him to destroy the city and rule the world - this calls for the Man of Steel to go to work.
Superman: The Man of Steel features comic book inspired environments such as the popular futuristic Metropolis, the Phantom Zone and War World. Anyone who's familiar with the Superman comics will be in sheer heaven. Popular characters appear throughout including Bizzaro, Metallo, Mongul, Cyborg and of course Lex Luthor who has never been so tough.
Superman: The Man of Steel features new incredible state of the art effects for the Xbox hardware. Superman has access to all his famous powers, including Freeze Breath, X-Ray Vision, Telescopic Vision and many more. Whilst engaging in hand-to-hand combat, Superman can use a variety of other skills to destroy his enemy.
Developed by Circus Freak Studios, Superman: The Man of Steel incorporates cutting-edge graphical technologies, including vertex and pixel shaders, bump mapping, environment mapping, real-time motion blurring, realistic cloth effects and spectacular particle effects. The game also features Dolby 5.1 3D spatial sound effects and an evocative, movie-like score composed especially for the game.
