Azuradisc, Inc introduces Automatic DVD Scratch Removal Machine program
Posted by Ben on Monday, July 29 2002

PHOENIX - May 14, 2002.

Azuradisc is unveiling the "One Touch 50" Fully Automated CD, DVD, and Game Disc repair machine at the E3 Trade Show in Los Angeles, CA, May 22-24. The "One Touch 50" will return a scratched disc back to a new like finish using its patented automatic scratch removal technology.

The advantage of this system is that it will repair damaged discs at a low cost and does not require the presence of an operator. Load 50 discs into the machine; select the type of disc and depth of scratch and simply push start on the touch screen and the "One Touch 50" will repair all 50 discs fully automatically.

The "One Touch 50" Disc Repair Machine uses micro-abrasives specifically designed for the disc repair application to remove a microscopic layer of the readable side of the disc and then polish it back to a like new finish. The machine repairs DVDs, Video Game Discs, CD-ROMs, CD-R's and Audio CDs. As long as the offending scratch is on the playing side, the "One Touch 50" will fix it.

Azuradisc has been selling & leasing it's disc repair machines to several different retail markets throughout the world. These Markets include video rental stores, new and used music stores, libraries, pawn shops and video game retailers who are using the equipment to maintain rental libraries as well as increase profit margins on used discs. Although Azuradisc has customers all over the world, most retailers hide the equipment in the back room and use it as their secret weapon to higher profit margins. Azuradisc is now working with some major retailers who are testing the idea of offering public repair services and scratch protection warranty programs, allowing the general consumer market to have their discs repaired at national store locations. A national scratch protection warranty program could earn millions in profits for the retailer, and encourage new disc sales by the consumers.

"A perfect finish is the key to success because it not only restores a disc's playability, but also its value. By giving a disc, whether it is a DVD, a Video Game, or a Music CD, a like-new finish, the retailer or service center now has a commodity that they can use to get some cash back or trade-in for another disc, where before it was a hunk of plastic that had no trade value."

"A store who used to refuse a disc because of scratches can now make as much as a 500% profit margin by re-selling a resurfaced disc. " said Jason Bauer, Azuradisc, Inc. CEO and president.

With Azuradisc's vast knowledge of commercial disc repair, they have launched new retail products that directly reflect their years of experience and they are bringing that knowledge to the consumer with products that are specifically designed with the end user in mind. Azuradisc feels that by bringing awareness to disc care and protection the end user can prolong the life of their discs, and retailers will benefit from a the increased confidence a consumer gains when scratches are no longer an issue.

This remarkable machine, as well as Azuradisc's complete line of Disc care and protection products will be on display May 22-24 at E3 Expo (Electronics Entertainment Exposition) in Los Angeles, California. Azuradisc has a prominent booth (#7616) in Kentia Hall in the Los Angeles Convention Center.
