IGN Launches Online Gamestore
Posted by Ben on Tuesday, July 23 2002

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 11, 2002--IGN Entertainment (Nasdaq:IGNX), the Web's largest information and entertainment destination for gamers, today announced that it has launched IGN Gamestore. The IGN branded online store is fully integrated within the IGN.com Web site and offers for sale new and used game hardware, software and accessories, as well as related entertainment merchandise such as DVDs, action figures and strategy guides.

IGN has chosen GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME), whose GameStop.com carries the world's largest selection of video game and entertainment software, as its fulfillment partner. GameStop will work with IGN to create exclusive bundles, promotions and offers only available on the IGN Gamestore, including 10% discounts on special purchases for IGNinsider subscribers.

The launch of IGN Gamestore positions IGN as a one-stop-shop for the gaming enthusiast -- enabling IGN users to access a product preview, read a detailed product review, discuss the product with fellow gamers, and now, click to preorder or order the item.

"We are pleased to be partnering with GameStop, the market leader in selection, pricing and fulfillment," said Mark Jung, IGN's CEO. "This new partnership and the resulting cross promotions should strengthen both the IGN Gamestore and IGNinsider programs while offering our users a more complete IGN experience."

"IGN, with its extensive award-winning gaming content, is the perfect choice to help GameStop.com further expand its large customer base of computer-savvy, net-centric individuals who find the Internet the best place to meet their gaming and entertainment needs," said Niall Lawlor, President of GameStop.com.
