Posted by Ben on Wednesday, July 31 2002
I just recieved a beta email.
Im not joking. Just so you know it is NOT final. I had to fill out a survey, and then they will give me the final "soon".
Here is a copy of the message. I have blanked out the links just because they were meant for my use only.
Everyone dreams of Xbox? Live. A select few get to play early. You, my friend, might be one of them.
Answer the questions in our Beta Survey to find out.
You could face off with gaming's elite. Play or be played. Create your Gamertag and create a rep. So if beta's in your blood, get crackin' on our survey. But act fast − space on the Beta Team is limited.
What can you expect during the Beta Test?
Like any beta, Xbox Live is still in development − we're building a playing field for hundreds, thousands, even millions of gamers. You'll be part of that development, the one to help iron out any snags or tell us which features are the best. You're building Xbox Live right along with us. It's all you.
Good luck. Bragging rights are yours to claim. Now get in the game.
Click here, BLANKED OUT, to find out your gaming fate and to complete the survey. Or copy and paste the link into your browser.

-Xbox Live Beta Selection Team
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're chosen to be on the Beta Team, you must purchase the Xbox Live Beta Starter Pack for $49.95 to participate. With the Beta Starter Pack, you get one year of Xbox Live's intense gaming service, Communicator headset and module, setup DVD, handy reference guide, Beta game(s), including the prerelease, online-only version of NFL? Fever 2003 and more. To say thanks for playing and participating in the Beta, we're throwing in some additional high-speed game play, on us. So you'll play for nothing until the scheduled official launch in November 2002.
An online-only version of NFL? Fever 2003 can be played exclusively during the Beta Testing period. Xbox Live is scheduled to be available in the U.S. in November 2002.
