Splinter Cell - Game of the Year Award

Thursday March 6, 2003 - Ubi Soft® Entertainment, one of the world's leading video game publishers, today announced that its breakout title for the XboxTM video game system from Microsoft, Tom Clancy's Splinter CellTM, won the Console Game of the Year at the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences' 2003 Interactive Achievement Awards, held last weekend in Las Vegas.

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences is the official professional academy of the US$ 7 billion interactive entertainment software industry. The academy is supported by - and counts among its board of key directors representatives from - the industry's leading companies.

"The industry response has been unanimous and now the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences' award makes it definitive: Splinter Cell is the console game of the year," says Yves Guillemot, President and CEO of Ubi Soft Entertainment. "The success of Splinter Cell is another achievement for Ubi Soft and something the entire company can be proud of."

Ubi Soft recently announced plans to make Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell available on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Developed by Ubi Soft's Shanghai studio, the PS2 version of the game will be available in Europe on March 27 and in the United States on April 8, 2003.
