BMX XXX

BMX XXX is the first attempt at a mature sports game, full of topless chicks, curse words and a lot more.
Gameplay: BMX XXX aside from the mature part is similar to all the Tony Hawks, and Aggressive Inline, those types of games. Only here you are on a bicycle, still the same concept though, ride around get points do missions, the basic stuff.
Now in BMX XXX the missions are a little different, more on the adult side. Also instead of getting money to buy new accessories you instead can unlock stripper videos. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? Well not exactly, unfortunately the stripper videos are only less then 20 seconds long. The missions are extremely unfair…. They are unfair so it is hard to unlock the stripper videos. So thank god for the master code. Well I watched all the videos, yes they are nice, but after thinking about it, it just wasn’t enough for what you have to go through in order to unlock the stripper videos. So if you’re purchasing this game for the nudity, big mistake. When it comes to humor I found this game to be hilarious, you may think otherwise, or you may even get offended. So make sure you have a sense of humor for this type of game.
BMX XXX is using the Dave Mirra engine, well that move wasn’t so great, and was full of flaws. So guess what, all of those flaws were carried over. What basically makes the missions extremely tough is, for instance, one problem is turning around is rather impossible. So if you were doing one of the missions which you must do in a certain amount of time, and you go to far (which happens often because the controller response is garbage) you will need to turn around. Now turning can be quite troublesome. Since you are riding a BMX bike, you are forced to make large circular turns then just stopping, picking up your bike and rotating it 180 degrees. So you will have to go searching for wide areas to make your turns. This can cause you to waste precious time on the clock.
One thing I like better about the missions in this over Tony Hawk series is that in Tony Hawk you have 2 minutes to do as many missions as possible, then another run, and so on… In BMX XXX you have unlimited time to ride around and start your missions when you pass by the point. Once you start the mission though you have a certain amount of time to do it in, then you can continue to ride around and do the next thing. You can keep going until you die, obviously by hitting your head to many times.
Graphics: The graphics in BMX XXX are not so impressive. Not impressive at all. This disappoints me, because a game like this demands good graphics. Hot topless chicks calls for good graphics. Thank god the stripper clips are real… The levels are huge though, so that is good. Mind you the levels do look pretty good, just not what you would have expected, or compared to Tony Hawk.
Controls: The controls in BMX XXX are simple, not as good as the Tony Hawk series. Takes some time getting used to, but they aren’t bad. Now the controller response time is garbage. In general, the controls stink.
Replay: There is not so much replay value left in the main game. You will probably come back and watch the 15 second stripper videos over and over though. That’s about the only reason you would ever want to put this game back in your Xbox. Another reason would maybe be for multiplayer purposes, but that is it. Chances are you aren’t even going to complete the main mode in the game, because of so many flaws. Thank god for the unlock all the videos cheat!!
Sound: The sound is well, okay. Actually it has its good and the bad. Even the good has the bad. The bad is the sound effects aren’t so great, they are ok, but not so great, kind of sounds just thrown in there.
The sound track in the game is pretty good. The actual sound track is ok, a mixture of new and older rock - goes pretty well with this type of game. BMX XXX also supports custom soundtracks, which is definitely a plus.
Overall Presentation: I wouldn’t say buy this game, I wouldn’t say rent the game either. (You don’t know what kind of sick perverted person rented this before you.) Actually I’d say rent it, unless someone cracks all the 15 second stripper videos then there is no point in the game. I’d say “THROW AWAY THE GAME, KEEP THE BEATIFUL WOMEN!”
