Hunter: The Reckoning
Reviewed by: Ben
Hunter the Reckoning is a very fun game that can feed your virtual killing needs. It is not just a hack and slash game; it’s a fun hack and slash game.

Gameplay: In Hunter, you play as one of four people who had witnessed the electrocution of a notorious murderer. Unfortunately, something went wrong during the execution, and a barrier had broken expelling all the convicts that had been killed in the town’s prison. These four people, or “Hunters”, banished the evil demon zombies away in the prison hoping to never see them again. As you guessed, one year later, on the anniversary of the execution gone wrong, the dead rose again, and are terrorizing the city. The only escape out of town is a subway train, and it has just been derailed. The city’s only hope is you (and up to three other friends). The gameplay is pretty straight forward. You go through the city killing zombie monsters, saving civilians, and completing special missions to reunite families. The main objective you have is to kill every zombie in sight, and make sure you rescue innocent civilians. It can become repetitive, but it is still a load of fun. What other game can you kill a possessed teddy bear?
Graphics: I was quite amazed after playing hunter. The graphics are shear beauty. The character models are very well detailed, and all of the levels are stunningly realistic. As you walk through a room with marble flooring, you can see yourself and the lights above reflecting against it. The attention to detail is astounding. All of the zombies look great. All characters move like they should. This game is eye candy.

Controls: The controls in Hunter are perfect. You have your basic attacking methods with the “a” button, and weapon changes with the others. It’s very straight forward. This is pure gaming pleasure. You can also use a joystick. with hunter, which can lead to arcade style hack and slash.
Replay: I can see tons of replay coming from Hunter. Just trying to rescue all civilians can be a daunting task. If you save all 50 civilians, you get rewarded with a different ending. It is also fun to play over and see how many zombies you can kill.

Sound: All of the sound in Hunter is very well chosen for the game. There is such attention to detail; you can only realize it when using a 5.1 system. From footsteps, to gunshots and reloading, you hear it all. The music also changes according to high action sequences.
Overall: Hunter is a great game with great attention to detail. The only problem that might arise to some gamers is lack of variety. I personally am entertained for hours on end. This is definitely a game for you to check out.
