Jet Set Radio Future
Reviewed by: Ben

Gameplay: The gameplay in Jet Set Radio is addictive and fun. Weather you are grinding up rails to tag your turf, or if your running down poison jam (one of the main nemesis's in the game), the experience overall is great. With every great game, there must be faults. Jet set has several. First of all, some of the challenges are painful to complete. It is very annoying when you have to grind up a ton of rails just to get to one small piece of graffiti. Sometimes (especially in the skyscraper district) you will be so close to completing a level, but then you fall to your death. Also, the game is too short. The main part of the game can easily be completed in a couple of days, but that does not include the bonus missions for extra characters. The final glaring problem is that the game's difficulty does not really vary. It pretty stays pretty steady and unvarying. Once you complete the core single player aspect of the game, you are faced with new street challenges, such as to pull off 25 grid trick combos, or achieve 100,000 points. Even with these faults, this game is fantastic, and I recommend the rental and/or purchase of this fantastic title.

Graphics: The graphics in this game are mind boggling. The worlds are huge and vibrant, the characters are well animated, and the amount of characters on screen at once is stunning. The cel shading is not as up to par as Cel Damage was, but it is still very impressive. This will make your non-Xbox owning friends jealous.

Controls: Currently no rating.

Replay: This game has a reasonable amount of replay value, but not for the single player mode. Once you beat this game, you will glide right through it the second time. If you were expecting otherwise from this game, look elsewhere.

Sound: The sound in this game is TERRIBLE. It actually gave me several headaches. The music, for the most part, is nauseating. If I have to hear Cibo Matto's song "Birthday Cake" one more time, I think I will have to kill someone. Other than the music, there isn't really much else to hear. If this game had custom sound tracks supported, it would have a much higher rating.

Overall Presentation:

Scores:
