Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver
Reviewed by: Uruk-Hai

Have you ever wanted to just get behind the wheel of a car that you know you could go trash for the fun of it? I know I sure have. Now is your chance. You are Chase Corrada, considered by some the bravest woman alive.

Gameplay: Picture this: its night, raining, and you have a wanna-be Jon Woo director yelling in your ear. "Hurry up Chase!!!" "We're running out of film!!" All of a sudden there is a motorcycle doing flips over a raised drawbridge with two exploding police cars following. "CUT!!"
The gameplay is just plain fun. Crashing cars, jumping over rivers, racing through a mall, even driving a chinese takeout cart. The gameplay is the highest part of the game, but it gets old fast.

Graphics: As the opening movie starts up, you start to think; "Could the graphics really be this amazing?" And here is the answer: No, not after the movie. The graphics on the game are the main reason why this game recieved a low score. To me, it seems like the developers spent more time on a 30-second movie then they did with the rest of the games. Although the motions of the cars are fluid, they cartoony graphics are a little to...well, ghetto. So, I would recommend watching the opening video many times, just so you can forget about the rest of the graphics in the game.

Controls: The setup feels right for the game. I enjoy the way you accelerate on this game compared to Gran Turismo(using the triggers vs. the face buttons). I reccomend using the controller S for this game, the button layout felt just a little better. While some of the cars handle unrealisticly, the overall feel of the cars feels good.

Replay: While the game can get old and very repetitive at times, there still is a little reply value. After beating the game I did lose all interest in the game so the only real replay value is in the multiplayer. The multiplayer has three different modes: Hit and Run(Tag), Stunt Point Duel(like attack for THPS), and Stunt Race(an all out race).

Sound: You pop in the game, you hear some Sum 41 "Nothing on my back". Sweet, I love that song, but then you realize that "Nothing on my back" is the only song on there besides the annoying music during the scenes. Not sweet. So what do you do? You pop in your own custom soundtrack. Sweeter.
Unfortunatly, you must listen to the director and other peoples lines throughout the game, the sound is still the high spot for the game.

Overall Presentation: After the release of Stuntman, somebody came up with the idea of another stunt driver game. Sometimes when something is succesful, a remake or sequel will not be succesful. This was one of those games. While the game has its high points, it defiantely has its low points.

Scores:
Gameplay: 7.5
Graphics: 6
Controls: 7
Replay: 5
Sound: 7

Total Score: 6.5
